Electrical Design Considerations
All of our machines are built for single-phase electrical power (nominally referred to as 120 V and 220 V), rather than three-phase power. The exception is the Sheet Press XL, which can be operated using three-phase or single-phase power. Three-phase power is more common in industrial-zoned buildings, but single-phase is the typical electrical power used in garages, workshops, and university labs. Our machines also use UL-listed components (when beneficial), have a built-in high temperature safety cut off function (when appropriate), and have undergone rigorous testing.

Similarly, instead of simple button or lever operation, our motors are controlled using variable-frequency devices. This Device improves energy-efficiency and reduces mechanical and electrical stress, thus reducing maintenance costs and improving the life of the machine. Heating elements are operated using PID controllers, which are more accurate and stable than dials and other types of simple temperature controllers.
